The photo shows the members of a group of professional dancers and choreographers from Spain, calling themselves ‘The Bollywood Diamonds’, performing dance scenes as presented in movies from Bollywood, the commonly used term for Hindi-language film industry.
The Bollywood Diamonds, a dancers group formed in 2004, aim at presenting dances from Bollywood films and they use dance costumes and accessories imported from Mumbai (previously known as Bombay) for their performances.
To prepare themselves for the Bollywood dances, they have undergone training in the Indian classical dance forms such as Bharata Natyam and popular dance forms such as Bhangra.
Typically, the dances in Bollywood films do not pertain to any particular dance style, including the recognized classical dance forms of India or the folkdance forms, but often they may either be of any one dance form choreographed differently to suit the story of the film or they may be a mixture of various dance forms and styles.
Apart from classical dances such as Bharata Natyam, Odissi, Mohiniattam, Kuchipudi, etc., the film dance choreography of Bollywood has also included Western dances such as Break Dance, Disco, Salsa, Hip Hop, etc.
